Beach of Sillin



It lies about ( 100 km) east to Tripoli, ( 10 km) west to Khoms; Sillin’s rocky beach stretches about ( 2 km ) , where the archeological Villa Sillin is located. A sandy beach stretches both east and west, containing small bays .
It is located in an area of about 100 hectares , with a pine and Acacia. A forest of two square kms separates it from private farms. It is attached to Alkhoms city, Al Margab populate.

Tourism importance:

The area can be a spot for more than two days stay for the following reasons.
1.Heritage features:
A) Villa Sillin: A recently uncovered Roman villa that contains several charming mosaic paintings inside its rooms.
B) The monuments of Leptis Magna is one of the most perfect Roman cities in the world. The monuments and the famous city museum besides the ox -wrestling ring need more than two days tour for the tourists.
2. Natural features:
A) Beaches: Al Khoms is famous for its charming beaches; mainly Ibsiss, Naggaza, Sillin, Ghneima and Tweibia, and others. They are a popular destination for people in summer; both city residents and visitors from other cities, including Tripoli.
B) Forests: Al Khoms forests are good for relaxation, besides a park and natural reserve in Naggaza, about ( 6 km) west to Sillin.
